Recipes Around the Campfire

Whether it’s s’mores, popcorn, hot dogs, or corn on the cob, the campfire has no limits. Grab your ingredients and your must-haves; aluminum foil, roasting sticks and start timing!

Cut a banana in half lengthwise (so you have two half-moons), sprinkle shaved milk chocolate over the banana. Wrap in tin foil and place on the fire/coals. Leave it there for about 10 minutes and the end result is amazing!

Make a hole in an apple, so the seeds are gone and place on a piece of aluminum foil. Make a cinnamon and sugar mix and pour into the hole of the apple. (The foil prevents it from running away.) Then wrap the apple in the foil and roast for 10-15 minutes in the fire. Kids are sure to love this applesauce!

biscuit pies

You will need a can of refrigerated biscuit dough and one can of your favorite pie filling (apples, peaches, cherry). Roll the biscuits out to about six inches or so and dollop a tablespoon or two of pie filling on the dough and fold over, pressing edges closed with a fork. Place pies in a skillet with some butter and when golden brown, sprinkle with powdered sugar and voila! A homemade pie!

orange brownies

Take an orange and cut about half an inch off the top, keeping the top. Take a spoon and scrape out the insides, then fill the orange with prepared brownie mix. Put the top back on the orange and completely cover in foil. Let the orange cook in the coals for about 20 minutes or until the brownie is done and enjoy your dessert!
